Please read through our Lesson Policies and Procedures before registering for classes. If you need assistance with enrollment, feel free to contact us.
Registration
Registrations can only be done by the parent or legal guardian of the participant. If a student is registered by someone other than their parent or legal guardian, they will not be allowed to participate until the registration paperwork is completed by the parent or legal guardian. Due to the family and child-centered nature of our program, we are able to make changes to our schedule to accommodate the needs of our families. If you cannot find a class that fits your family’s needs, please contact us directly and we will assist in finding openings (sometimes we can move things around a little)! If you need to cancel prior to starting lessons, we do have a 24-hour grace period after registering to cancel without penalty. Contact us within 24 hours of registering online if you need to cancel and all fees will be waived. However, after the 24-hour grace period all cancellations must follow the guidelines below. There is a $25 registration fee per student ($40 family maximum).
Tuition & Billing
Tuition and the annual registration fee are due at the time of registration. Payment methods can be updated in the Parent Portal.
Year-Round Lesson Tuition
- Tuition is billed on the 25th of each month for the upcoming month (i.e. June 25th for the month of July).
- Tuition is based on how many lessons are available in the month, including adjustments for pre-scheduled facility closures. Billing amount varies depending on the number of lesson days per month. See sample calendar. See the Lesson & Billing Calendar for specific billing details.

Automatic Billing
We require all new enrollments to provide billing information at the time of enrollment. For our summer lessons, tuition is charged within two (2) days of registration. For year-round lessons, tuition is billed on the 25th of each month using the payment method provided at registration. To update billing information, you must contact us before the 20th of the month prior (i.e. to change your payment method for September, you would need to update it by August 20th).
Enrollment Drop Policy
Register for a day and time that is best for you weekly. That will be your reserved class until you request a permanent change to your swimmer’s schedule OR submit an Enrollment Drop Request. To withdraw from your monthly swim class, please submit the Enrollment Drop Request before the 20th of the month in which you want to end lessons. For example, if you wish for September to be your last month of lessons, your completed withdrawal request must be received by September 20th.
Absences & Makeups
Absences MUST be reported at least 2 hours before the missed class. Students are allowed one (1) makeup per month. If the student will miss more than one class, we recommend finding a different day/time that better suits your schedule. Makeups are available in other classes with availability, but are limited.
Reporting an Absence
To qualify for a makeup lesson, you must notify us prior to the absence. All reported absences are eligible to be made up within 3 months of the absence. There are a few ways that you can notify us of a swimmer’s absence.
- Log into the Parent Portal, select “Absences & Makeups” from the menu in the top right corner, click the “Submit Absences” button, and submit your child’s absence.
- Send an email to info@aquaticabilities.com letting us know the date your student will be absent.
- Send a text to (317) 439-9831 with your child’s first and last name and the date of absence.
Scheduling a Makeup
We do our best to schedule makeups based on customer request, but we are limited on class availability and we may not be able to meet every need. To accommodate makeups, we may put your child in the level below or above their current level. Makeups can be scheduled up to one week in advance and must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance. Missed makeup lessons cannot be rescheduled. If you need to cancel or reschedule your makeup, please log into the Parent Portal at least 24 hours in advance. There are a few ways that you can schedule a makeup for your child:
- Log into the Parent Portal, select “Absences & Makeups” from the menu in the top right corner, scroll down to “Past” absences, click the green “Schedule Makeup” link, and then select a class to schedule your child’s makeup class. If you do not see a class that works for you, please contact us.
- Send an email to info@aquaticabilities.com and request a makeup.
Communication
Aquatic Abilities uses email and text notifications as our primary forms of communication with customers. Please make sure that your email and phone numbers are correct. Email and text notifications include teacher absences & changes, class cancellations, billing information, etc. We will not contact individual families who have opted out regarding general communication. We recommend accessing the Parent Portal to submit absences, schedule make-ups, view student progress, and more! Download our app to stay in touch! Access your Parent Portal, report absences, schedule makeups, and more!

Facility Closures
Due to our limited number of classes, we do not do make-ups for facility closures. You will not be billed for scheduled closures. Our 2025/2026 scheduled closures are:
- Spring Break (4/4/26–4/10/26)
- Memorial Day (5/23/26–5/25/26)
- Fourth of July (7/3/26–7/5/26)
- Labor Day (9/7/26)
- Fall Break (10/15/26–10/18/26)
- Thanksgiving (11/26/26–11/29/26)
- Winter Break (12/22/26–1/3/27)
Year-Round Lesson Weather Policies
We do our best to make weather-related decisions in a timely manner and communicate this information via text, however it is not always possible. Therefore we recommend all families check email (look in SPAM folders), Facebook, and our website if the weather is questionable. We will use all of those communication methods to relay closing information.
WE WILL NOT NOTIFY INDIVIDUAL FAMILIES WHO HAVE OPTED OUT OF EMAIL OR TEXT. Therefore, please make sure that you are signed up to receive all communication. You can log into the Customer Portal to make sure we have the correct information and that you are opted in to receive communication. Our weather policy is as follows,
- If Noblesville and/or Carmel Schools close in the morning before school starts DUE TO ROAD CONDITIONS OR WEATHER ADVISORIES, we will cancel lessons normally held from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
- If Noblesville and/or Carmel Schools release and close early during a school day DUE TO ROAD CONDITIONS OR WEATHER ADVISORIES, we will evaluate the situation and make a decision by 12:00pm regarding classes normally held from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
- If Noblesville Schools and/or Carmel close due to cold temperatures, we will have classes as normal.
- If there is a 2-hour delay, we will have classes as normal.
- Students are permitted one make-up per month, so you can choose to use that option if we are holding classes and you do not want to attend. However, if we cancel classes, all students will receive a make-up and it will not count as your one make-up per month.
Evaluations & Promotions
All students are evaluated continuously and instructors will update skills in the Parent Portal. If a student is being promoted, we will notify parents via email and then they can contact us to find a new class.
Lesson Minimum
We require that students complete a minimum of eight consecutive lessons in our program. Our curriculum is designed in a progressive manner. For students to receive the greatest benefits from our program, we feel that they need to remain in lessons consistently until they are proficient swimmers. If a student only takes one month of lessons, that is equal to just two hours of instruction. A lifesaving skill, such as swimming, typically takes longer to master and we want to be confident that every swimmer who exits our program is safe around water. This requirement is automatically met for summer lessons, since each session is 8 lessons.
Health & Safety
SWIM DIAPERS: We require that all children who are under 3 years old OR are not 100% potty-trained wear a Happy Nappy Duo swim diaper under their swim suit. This is the only brand of swim diaper we allow, as they are very reliable and provide the best protection from accidents. The Happy Nappy Duo swim diaper is different from the regular Happy Nappy, because it has an inside liner that adds an extra layer of protection. We do not allow the regular Happy Nappy swim diaper. Swim diapers should fit snugly around the legs and waist. There should not be any space or gaps. Disposable swim diapers CANNOT be worn under the reusable swim diapers. In compliance with Indiana health codes, regular disposable diapers are not permitted in the pool. Children under the age of 3 years old who are not wearing a reusable Happy Nappy Duo swim diaper will not be allowed in the pool. Happy Nappy Duo swim diapers are available for purchase at lessons or directly from Splash About. Our definition of potty-trained is: A child who has the capacity to know when they need to use the restroom and will ask to be let out of the pool to go to the bathroom. If your child is not quite there, please put them in a reusable swim diaper. If an accident occurs while wearing a reusable Happy Nappy Duo diaper, the child will be required to wear two reusable swim diapers. Children under the age of 3 who are not wearing a reusable Happy Nappy diaper will not be allowed in the pool. These swim diapers can be purchased on site before lessons.
ATTIRE: We recommend that children wear a swimsuit, swim bottoms & rashguard, swim trunks, etc.
SWIM CAPS: We recommend that all children over the age of 3 years old whose hair is long enough to get in their eyes wear a swim cap. This prevents the swimmer’s hair from interfering with breathing. While we encourage all children to wear a swim cap, we understand that some may have sensitivities and be unwilling or reluctant to do so. If your child has a sensitivity that would be affected by a swim cap, please let your instructor know and we will accommodate their needs. Due to allergies, latex swim caps are not allowed to be worn. Silicone and lycra caps can be purchased at our retail shop or most sporting goods stores.
EATING: We request that students refrain from eating large amounts of food within 2 hours of their swimming lesson. The movement in the water can often upset children’s stomachs and vomiting in the pool forces us to cancel lessons. Please only give children a small snack before their class.
ILLNESS & INJURY: If your child or anyone in your household is ill, we ask that you stay home until fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication. Individuals with open wounds are not allowed in the pool. Please remove band-aids before entering the pool.
