Let us answer all your swimming lesson FAQ’s!
Our year-round lessons are offered at Riverview Rehab facilities in Noblesville and Carmel.
The cost is based on the number of lessons in the month, with the average being $114 for four lessons. Most months have four lessons. If there are only three lessons, due to a holiday/facility closure, it is $85.50 and if there are five lessons (only happens a few times a year) it is $142.50. If we close for a holiday or facility maintenance, you are not charged for that lesson. We have classes several days per week.
We require that all customers enroll in our automatic billing program. A recurring monthly charge will be debited from your card or bank account on file on the 25th of the month prior (i.e. February tuition is charged on January 25th).
If you are a new client, your initial tuition fee will be charged within 2-3 business days of registration. This fee will be adjusted to reflect the student’s start date. Tuition for the following month will be charged on the 25th of the month, regardless of initial start date. Therefore, if you enroll at the beginning of January, your initial tuition fee will be charged within 2-3 business days and tuition for February will be charged on January 25th. Tuition will be charged on the 25th of the month prior henceforth until a written cancellation form is submitted.
We are primarily a year-round continuous enrollment facility. We do not run in sessions for year-round lessons, so you are welcome to enroll at anytime. Please view our schedule to find available classes. We do offer summer lessons at our outdoor pool and those are run as sessions.
We require that students complete a minimum of eight consecutive lessons in our program. Our curriculum is designed in a progressive manner. For students to receive the greatest benefits from our program, we feel that they need to remain in lessons consistently until they are proficient swimmers. If a student only takes one month of lessons, that is equal to just two hours of instruction. A lifesaving skill, such as swimming, typically takes longer to master and we want to be confident that every swimmer who exits our program is safe around water.
To withdraw from your monthly swim class, please submit the Enrollment Drop Request before the 20th of the month in which you want to end lessons. For example, if you wish for September to be your last month of lessons, your completed withdrawal request must be received by September 20th. You can also request an enrollment drop through the Parent Portal.
To register online for classes, you can view our levels and class schedules online and click the “Register” button to enroll. This will take you to an Online Registration form.

Please read our level guide to determine which class best suits your child’s needs and abilities. Each of our levels is designed to build on specific skills. Use our Level Finder to help determine the best fit for your swimmer. If you feel unsure about what level your child should be in, please contact us and we will help you find the perfect class.
Seahorses and Seals are our older beginner levels for children age 4 years and older who are terrified, fearful, or hesitant. Seahorses will focus on helping children overcome their fear of water and become comfortable in the water. Once students have overcome their initial fears, they will move into Seals and begin learning basic stroke technique, including an introduction to side-breathing and backstroke. Children under the age of 4 years old who may be hesitant or fearful, should enroll in the Starfish class. It is common for children to be slightly hesitant when they first enter lessons and the Starfish class is designed to accommodate these situations. If a child is over the age of 5 years old and has never had lessons, but is NOT fearful of water, please contact us and we will most likely start them directly in Seals.
Yes, we have several highly trained special abilities instructors who teach children with unique physical, mental, and developmental differences. Please contact us to schedule a trial lesson or for more information.
There is no simple answer to this question. Each child is different and will therefore learn at their own pace. However, we can tell you that putting your child in for only a month or two and then withdrawing them will most likely lead to more harm than good. A fearful child who comes to swimming lessons for only one month may leave and no longer be afraid of the water, but they will also not be able to swim. This makes for a very dangerous situation and one that we strongly discourage. Children who are fearful are less likely to go near the water, however a child who has overcome that fear but has not actually learned how to swim has an unrealistic confidence that can result in disaster. One month of swimming lessons is approximately two hours of instruction. There are very few activities in life, let alone life threatening ones, that can be learned adequately in two hours. Our suggestion is to enroll your child from an early age–ideally before they are a year old–and keep them in lessons year-round until they are able to comfortably swim the length of the pool using both freestyle and backstroke. We understand that this is a big commitment, but your child’s safety is our primary concern.
Students are evaluated continuously by their instructors. Students will be evaluated on the skills for their current level. If the student is ready to move to the next level, the instructor will update skills and we will notify parents.
We recommend that children over the age of 2 years old wear a swimsuit, swim bottoms & rashguard, swim trunks, etc. Goggles are optional. We request that all children over the age of 3 years old whose hair is long enough to get in their eyes wear a swim cap. This prevents the swimmer’s hair from interfering with breathing. While we encourage all children to wear a swim cap, we understand that some may have sensitivities and be unwilling or reluctant to do so. If your child has a sensitivity that would be affected by a swim cap, please let your instructor know and we will accommodate their needs. Due to allergies, latex swim caps are not allowed to be worn. Silicone caps can be purchased before lessons or at most sporting goods stores.
We require that all children who are under 3 years old OR are not 100% potty-trained wear a Happy Nappy Duo swim diaper under their swim suit. This is the only brand of swim diaper we allow, as they are very reliable and provide the best protection from accidents. The Happy Nappy Duo swim diaper is different from the regular Happy Nappy, because it has an inside liner that adds an extra layer of protection. We do not allow the regular Happy Nappy swim diaper. Swim diapers should fit snugly around the legs and waist. There should not be any space or gaps. Disposable swim diapers CANNOT be worn under the reusable swim diapers. In compliance with Indiana health codes, regular disposable diapers are not permitted in the pool. Children under the age of 3 years old who are not wearing a reusable Happy Nappy Duo swim diaper will not be allowed in the pool. Happy Nappy Duo swim diapers are available for purchase at lessons or directly from Splash About. If your child is over 3 years old and is 100% potty-trained, they do not have to wear a swim diaper. However, please be aware of our definition of 100% potty-trained. We consider a child fully potty-trained when they have the capacity to know when they need to use the restroom AND will ask to be let out of the pool to go to the bathroom. If your child is not quite there, please put them in a reusable swim diaper.
Some children’s eyes are more sensitive than others. The best rule to follow when making this decision is whether or not the child will fully participate in aquatic activities without the use of goggles. If the answer is no, we suggest trying out a pair. We have goggles on the pool deck for students to borrow. Personal goggles are highly recommended due to the time wasted adjusting goggles for each student’s needs.
